The journey between Nottingham and Gatwick
Gatwick is roughly 170 miles from Nottingham by road. The usual route follows the M1 south and then the M25 around London to the airport. Because the M25 carries very heavy traffic, this is one of the journeys where building in a buffer matters most.
By rail, the trip normally means travelling into London and changing trains – manageable with a backpack, much harder with suitcases, pushchairs and children. A private transfer keeps everything in one vehicle from door to terminal.
